I grew up the oldest of six children in the rolling green mountains of rural Eastern Kentucky. I went to college at Tulane University in New Orleans. After college I started a graduate program at Harvard but left to take a finance job at the world's largest institutional bank. When the Great Recession hit in 2008 I went to law school at Barry University in Orlando, Florida. I spent the summer before my 3rd year of law school interning with a Federal District Judge here in Las Vegas. I fell in love with Vegas' people, energy, heat, and Mexican food (I'm the grandchild of Mexican immigrants). My heart was never in the law, so after graduating I came back to Las Vegas and started my career in business. In the last 11 years I've owned and operated a number of small businesses in the hospitality, entertainment, and real estate space.
Over the last 20+ years I've volunteered and worked on numerous Democratic campaigns and causes going back to Al Gore. In 2004 I was a Delegate at the Democratic National Convention.

We need a Senator who is ready to lead on day one. We face serious challenges. This is no time to be learning on the job.
On day one I will be fighting with everything I've got to fix our underfunded schools, grow our economy, and lower prices for gas, housing, and health care.
I will fight to level the economic playing field so we can all share in prosperity.
